Send Message

Send a message to a Slack channel

Use it in a workflow

  1. Add a step and choose the Slack connector.
  2. Pick the Send Message action (under slack).
  3. Fill in the fields below, then reference the result from later steps as {{sendMessage.response.data}}.

Fields

channelstringrequired

Channel ID (e.g., C1234567890) or channel name (e.g., #general). Use # prefix for channel names.

textstring

Plain text message to send. Use this for simple messages, or use Blocks for rich formatting.

blocksstring

Slack Block Kit JSON for rich message formatting. Leave empty to use plain text.

threadTsstring

Timestamp of parent message to reply in a thread. Leave empty to send a new message.

usernamestring

Override the default bot username for this message. Leave empty to use bot's default name.

iconEmojistring

Override bot icon with an emoji (e.g., :robot_face:). Leave empty to use bot's default icon.

iconUrlstring

Override bot icon with a URL. Leave empty to use bot's default icon.
