fileDelete

Deletes file assets that were previously uploaded to your store. Use the fileDelete mutation to permanently remove media and file assets from your store when they are no longer needed.

Use it in a workflow

  1. Add a step and choose the Shopify connector.
  2. Pick the fileDelete action (under File).
  3. Fill in the fields below, then reference the result from later steps as {{filedelete.response.data}}.

Query

This is the mutation the action sends by default. Edit it in the step's Query field to change which fields come back.

graphql
mutation FileDelete($fileIds: [ID!]!) {
  fileDelete(fileIds: $fileIds) {
    deletedFileIds
    userErrors {
      code
      field
      message
    }
  }
}

Variables

Pass these as a JSON object in the step's Variables field.

fileIdsarray<string>required

The IDs of the files to be deleted.

json
{
  "fileIds": [
    "string"
  ]
}

Response

Read the result with {{filedelete.response.data.data.fileDelete}}. If the API returns errors, the step fails and they are at {{filedelete.response.data.errors}}.

deletedFileIdsarray<string>
userErrorsarray<object>
codeobject
fieldobject
messageobject
