customerRecover

Sends a reset password email to the customer. The email contains a reset password URL and token that you can pass to the customerResetByUrl or customerReset mutation to reset the customer's password.

Use it in a workflow

  1. Add a step and choose the Shopify Storefront connector.
  2. Pick the customerRecover action (under Customer).
  3. Fill in the fields below, then reference the result from later steps as {{customerrecover.response.data}}.

Query

This is the mutation the action sends by default. Edit it in the step's Query field to change which fields come back.

graphql
mutation CustomerRecover($email: String!) {
  customerRecover(email: $email) {
    customerUserErrors {
      code
      field
      message
    }
    userErrors {
      field
      message
    }
  }
}

Variables

Pass these as a JSON object in the step's Variables field.

emailstringrequired

The email address of the customer to recover.

json
{
  "email": "string"
}

Response

Read the result with {{customerrecover.response.data.data.customerRecover}}. If the API returns errors, the step fails and they are at {{customerrecover.response.data.errors}}.
