customerAccessTokenCreate

Exchange a customer's email + password for an access token (legacy customer accounts) — pass the token to the customer-scoped queries and mutations.

Use it in a workflow

  1. Add a step and choose the Shopify Storefront connector.
  2. Pick the customerAccessTokenCreate action (under Customer).
  3. Fill in the fields below, then reference the result from later steps as {{customeraccesstokencreate.response.data}}.

Query

This is the mutation the action sends by default. Edit it in the step's Query field to change which fields come back.

graphql
mutation CustomerAccessTokenCreate($input: CustomerAccessTokenCreateInput!) {
  customerAccessTokenCreate(input: $input) {
    customerAccessToken {
      accessToken
      expiresAt
    }
    customerUserErrors {
      code
      field
      message
    }
    userErrors {
      field
      message
    }
  }
}

Variables

Pass these as a JSON object in the step's Variables field.

Response

Read the result with {{customeraccesstokencreate.response.data.data.customerAccessTokenCreate}}. If the API returns errors, the step fails and they are at {{customeraccesstokencreate.response.data.errors}}.
