cartSubmitForCompletion

Submit a prepared cart for order creation — returns a `cartCompletionAttempt` to poll.

Use it in a workflow

  1. Add a step and choose the Shopify Storefront connector.
  2. Pick the cartSubmitForCompletion action (under Cart).
  3. Fill in the fields below, then reference the result from later steps as {{cartsubmitforcompletion.response.data}}.

Query

This is the mutation the action sends by default. Edit it in the step's Query field to change which fields come back.

graphql
mutation CartSubmitForCompletion($cartId: ID!, $attemptToken: String!) {
  cartSubmitForCompletion(cartId: $cartId, attemptToken: $attemptToken) {
    result
    userErrors {
      code
      field
      message
    }
  }
}

Variables

Pass these as a JSON object in the step's Variables field.

cartIdstringrequired

The ID of the cart.

attemptTokenstringrequired

The attemptToken is used to guarantee an idempotent result. If more than one call uses the same attemptToken within a short period of time, only one will be accepted.

json
{
  "cartId": "string",
  "attemptToken": "string"
}

Response

Read the result with {{cartsubmitforcompletion.response.data.data.cartSubmitForCompletion}}. If the API returns errors, the step fails and they are at {{cartsubmitforcompletion.response.data.errors}}.

resultobject

This field can return one of several different object shapes — properties from every possible shape are shown together.
